Hawaii Governor Announces Bid by "Tweet"

Democratic Rep Neil Abercrombie announced that he will run for Governor of Hawaii next year on his campaign Web site and on the micro-blogging platform Twitter. This was run by the Associated Press in our local Greensboro News & Record. Not bad for a 70 year old, right? Well I am sure he didn't specifically say, "Hey, we must use Twitter!" Someone in his camp must have known of the new power of social sites. Some people will attest to the fact that the President was elected through the help of Facebook and one its 25 year old founders.
